Changing the responsible pharmacist in a PUI: updating the NMVS certificate

Published on

The responsible pharmacist for a facility, in particular a hospital pharmacy (PUI), is designated in the NMVS records at initial installation. That designation is tied to the certificate used to communicate securely with France MVS.

Why update France MVS?

When the responsible pharmacist changes or is replaced, France MVS must be updated. Until the NMVS record is current, the certificate no longer matches the pharmacist in post.

The NMVS procedure

Notify the NMVS and send a scan of a letter signed by the facility management, stating the change.

  1. 1

    Notify the NMVS

Inform the NMVS of the change or replacement of the responsible pharmacist.

  2. 2

    Signed letter

Send a scan of a letter signed by the facility management, including the new pharmacist’s details.

  3. 3

    NMVS confirmation

Once the scan is received, the update is made and the NMVS sends a confirmation.

  4. 4

    Install in PharmaliZr

Install the certificate in the PharmaliZr application.

Letter to the NMVS

Signed by the facility management

The scan must include the following information about the new responsible pharmacist:

  • RPPS number
  • Last name
  • First name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Effective date

Signature of management

Once the scan has been received, the update is made and a confirmation is sent by the NMVS.

Install the certificate in PharmaliZr

After NMVS confirmation, the certificate must be installed in the PharmaliZr application. The serialization account remains linked to the certificate issued for the facility. For the detailed procedure, see the guide to managing the responsible pharmacist certificate in a PUI.
