Perform quarantine of a medicine with PharmaliZr, the system for fighting falsified medicines in France.

Procedure for quarantining a serialized medicine #

According to the procedure in force in your PUI concerning the integrity of anti-tampering devices, if a product is non-compliant, authorized personnel must not:

• put the box contents into delivery in the hospital;
• deliver the box in retrocession.
  They must set it aside and contact the supplier according to the usual procedure.
  The PharmaliZr application communicates with the NMVS database at each serialization. Any non-compliant medicine must be placed in quarantine, pending instructions to follow.
  In case of doubt about the compliance of a medicine box, it is important to follow the quarantine procedure to prevent any risk to patient health.

PharmaliZr quarantine zone #

Each medicine gets a status when it is serialized in the serialization space. If the status corresponds to a quarantine, simply select the “Quarantine” tab in the interface and re-scan the box in this new context. The box is then placed in quarantine pending being scanned again to exit it.
The manual quarantine procedure for a medicine is identical to that of serialization.

Why is quarantining a non-compliant medicine box essential? #

Falsified medicines represent a potential danger to health. Indeed, they may contain harmful, inappropriate or contaminated substances. There is therefore a real risk of causing adverse effects. Quarantining non-compliant medicines is then essential to prevent their use. This is to protect patient health and ensure their safety, as well as the quality of care.
